The Smallest City on Warren's Border
Center Line's earliest settlers arrived in 1837 to a spot first called Hickory, renamed Aba the following year, before it eventually took the name Center Line from an old trail marking the center line between two early routes. It became a village on July 11, 1925, under a charter signed by Governor Alex J. Groesbeck, and a city in 1936 -- and today it remains a landlocked enclave completely surrounded by the City of Warren, one of the smallest and most tightly packed cities in this cluster.
