Why local history matters
Warren began in 1830 as a small settlement called Beebe's Corners, but its modern identity was set during World War II by the Detroit Arsenal Tank Plant, which opened in 1941 and built more than 22,000 tanks by war's end, and again in 1956, when General Motors dedicated its Technical Center campus in Warren.
